As well as providing opportunities for a diverse range of sporting and leisure activities, Burnside's parks are an important part of the structure of the city, providing a pleasant visual outlook, quiet places for passive recreation and space for large trees, native vegetation and wildlife habitats.
Individuals and community groups are encouraged to help develop and maintain our parks and reserves, and Council actively supports the formation of "friends" groups.
Details of sports clubs and information about tennis court bookings can be obtained from the Council's Community and Information Services Department on (08) 8366 4224.
Note: Two Conservation Parks - Ferguson and Cleland - are included. Also included is the Mount Osmond Reserve. Enquiries about these areas should be directed to the National Parks and Wildlife Service on (08) 8204 9000.
